  • All About Amethyst…

Posted by mark-ravenheart on August 13, 2023 at 8:03 pm

I have a chunk of Brazilian Amethyst that is very dark purple, (almost black-looking), it is known as a dragon’s tooth, and I wish I could have some jewelry made from it.

I am sure it would produce some beautiful pieces, but I am not sure who would fashion the pieces or the cost involved in the process. But it would really be cool if I could commission someone to fashion pendants or rings from it. The darker the Amethyst the more it is believed to be worth, (or so I read).

Anyways, I started this thread because I am a trauma survivor and the Amethyst crystal is known to transmute negativity. I just thought this could be a space where we share our love for, knowledge of, and experiences with Amethyst.

I hope to work with Amethyst in the further development of my psychic abilities.

Have you a picture of it, because i am thinking, depending on the size and quality, to leave it as it is. You will probably find it will cost quite a lot to have it fashioned into any kind of jewellery. PLUS the risk of it being ruined is a high possibility if left in the wrong hands. Do a lot of research and checking out various jewellers, before letting them work on it. I would go for an independant jeweller who has a workshop that you can see into, one where you can see them working. Not some one who will whip it away and you not know where its going or who will be working on it.

I have a piece of Amethyst Geode, in a cut to fit wooden stand. Its heavy and looks wonderful in its natural state. I would not let anyone touch it ever.

I also have a Lapis Lazuli Bracelet, made up of beads and an Oval piece. Its too long and heavy to wear as is and i have just found a wonderful jeweller who is going to convert it into a bracelet and choker style pendant. Just have to get the rest of the money together to have it done. It will be worth it in the end.

I will post a picture of the Amethyst when I can borrow my friends’ phone. (My phone takes horrible photos). I may end up leaving it “as is”. It’s nice and I would not want to destroy it or pay a fortune for a piece of jewelry from it.

I bought an amethyst pendant, based on the intuition of the animal Allies that can work well with this gemstone, and hope that I can as well. As you can see, I totally scrapped my plan for making a piece of jewelry out of my dragon’s tooth, at least for now.

I got an amethyst pendant. It is a dark cabochon and I love the energy it radiates. My chakras seem more aligned and I don’t care if it is the placebo effect, it works so I’m not gonna knock it!!!

I bought another amethyst pendant, it is wire-wrapped in silver and has a tree of life design on the front of it. I like it a lot. I will take a pic when I have a good camera here.
