March going out tonight like a Lion and other anthropomorphic phrases
I love good storms. The thunder rumbling now goes on for many many seconds as the lightning brightens up my darken bedroom. I can’t sleep so I get back up and get on the computer.
I’ve always been fascinated with statements that are about animals such as March coming in like a lamb (or lion) and going out like a Lion (or Lamb)
So I started thinking of more phrases that we have about animals to describe something in our lives.Be as cunning as a fox
Squirrel away
Like a bat out of hell
To Pig out
A fish out of water
Busy as a bee
Bald as an eagle (which eagles are NOT bald- never quite got this one)
As a crow flies
Going at a snails pace
Black sheep of the family (my favorite – snort – )
Cat got your tongue?
Bury your head in the sand like an ostrich
Elephant in the room
Dead as a door mouse.
Hold your horsesIt really got me thinking of what strange ones are out there that well I just don’t know about, and I found this site.
Anyway, this is what happens when I can’t sleep

Pretty cool! Some of the meanings are so literal one might not even realize it. I was thinking of a few more while reading like a fly on the wall, a bull in a China shop and when pigs fly. Next time I’ll get a doggie bag! Anyway, sometimes it’s fun to go down a 🐇 🕳 ! 😂🤣
