Happy Friday everyone. I posted a picture a few days ago of the Purple Finches in the yard. Their bright berry pink chests are so pretty and eye catching. Yesterday and today, they have been joined by the Cardinal. There are splotches of red behind the house, stark against the white of melting snow and the dull browns of bare trees.
I’ve been thinking about what the color means to me. Red is the root chakra. It makes me think of grounding and connecting to Gaia. It also represents passion. Not just love, but passion for life, for work, and creativity.
These little birds are feisty and full of fire, another aspect of red. They seem to be very assertive and fly after each other chirping loudly to the heavens. It is interesting to witness. I feel as if I’m being called to follow my passion with fiery intent and vigor.
Any thoughts? What does red mean to you guys?

There is nothing like color returning to the yard. It evokes strong “happy” feelings, like everything will be OK somehow. Your birds are bold. They want their voices heard and, indeed, believe 100% that the SHOULD be heard. The neat thing about the Red hue is it offers balance. You can pursue your dreams with zeal and keep one foot on Gaia!

I took inspiration and did a root chakra meditation today. Feeling very present and grounded, good. :)
